And Baby Makes Four ~ Fort Collins Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

Oh how I love lifestyle newborn sessions. There’s something so pure and simple about a brand new baby being photographed in his own home – I can’t get enough of them! The lovely window light, the clean lines of the bed being used as a backdrop, and the individuality of baby’s nursery make each and every lifestyle newborn session special in its own way. And babies seem to sleep SO much better when they’re cozy in their own environment.

I’ve known the “T” family for several years now, and I’ve had the honor of photographing both of their beautiful boys within the first 10 days of their lives. Both in their own home, surrounded by the love of an adoring mama and daddy. It’s such a privilege to be able to capture a family throughout the years as they grow from an expectant couple to a family of 3, and then 4, and sometimes even 5 and 6.:)

I loved incorporating Asher’s personal blankets into some of the images. One of my favorite parts of being a new mom (aside from having a sweet, squishy newborn to snuggle whenever I wanted) was collecting fun receiving blankets. Now that I’ve donated most of our blankets to friends and Goodwill, I wish I’d thought to incorporate more of them into my girls’ newborn sessions. So now I try to incorporate them into my newborn sessions when I can.

I can never get enough of the perfect combination of beautiful window light and a newborn on a white blanket!

Kai is SUCH a good big brother. It’s not always easy to convince a 2-year-old to stay still – especially when supporting a baby brother on your back, but he was a total trooper!

I created an image very similar to this with Kai and his daddy when he was a newborn, so I wanted to make sure that we had something similar with Asher and his daddy.

All boy – playing contentedly with his trains in his bedroom while I photographed baby brother nearby.
