It’s Labor Day, my oldest daughter is back in school, and my Saturdays in September and October are starting to fill up. Fall is almost here, which means that family portrait season will be in full swing within the next couple of weeks. It’s time for me to get organized!
One thing that I’ve found really helps my family make it through the busy fall portrait season is to have a weekly menu plan in place. It takes some planning at the beginning of the week, but if I put together at least a week’s worth of recipes at a time, I can get all the grocery shopping completed on Monday, and there’s no scramble at 5PM trying to figure out what to make for dinner each night.
We have a few staples that we like to have every couple of weeks, but I’m a big fan of trying new recipes, too. My favorite place to find recipes is on Pinterest. I have a LOT of recipes pinned, and if you’d like, you can follow me by clicking here. I’m feeling adventurous this week, and we’re trying several new recipes. They all sound super yummy, and I’m excited to try them! I try to include at least one meatless recipe each week, and I love to use crockpot or one pot recipes on the days I have portrait sessions. Here’s our menu plan for this week (we’re having a lot of chicken – don’t judge):
